Agility Class Information
AGILITY FOUNDATION
Prerequisites: Dog should have basic obedience skills. They should be well-socialized and well-behaved around other dogs/people in a group environment. Teams should be able to work reliably and safely off-leash for brief periods of time.
Class description: Learn fundamental agility skills to help handler and dog work together as a team to build drive, focus, commitment, and confidence. Skills learned include driving to a reward, staying committed, offering a jump behavior, tunnels and beginning phases of handling maneuvers.
6 Week Course (meet once a week) – Cost: $100
Class size is limited
Days and times offered to be determined based on interest.
BASIC OBSTACLE PERFORMANCE AND HANDLING TECHNIQUES
Prerequisite: Agility Foundation class.
Class description: Dogs and handlers will be introduced to agility equipment used in AKC agility trials. Learn various handling techniques and how handling elements (motion, eyes, hands, etc) are applied. Begin running short sequences.
6 Week Course (meet once a week) – Cost: $100
Class size is limited
Summer Session: Mondays 6:00 - 7:00 pm (Full); Tuesdays 7:00 - 8:00 pm (Full).
Classes are held outside so are contingent upon weather conditions.
